LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK AWARD

17 January 2019

LOWE’S BURY BEAT MK DONS IN A SEVEN-GOAL THRILLER

The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising of LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett, and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Bury for our 4 – 3 victory over MK Dons on Saturday 12th January.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.

Three second-half goals saw the Shakers snatch all three points in a seven-goal thriller against promotion rivals MK Dons.

Bury were 3-1 down after 52 minutes, before goals from Telford, Mayor and Maynard secured a dramatic stoppage-time win at Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane. Four goals against the best defence in the league saw the Shakers jump up to second in the Sky Bet League Two table.

Bury Manager Ryan Lowe will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.
