Bury have played a total of 19 games on 10th January, winning nine, drawing five and losing five. Of those 19 games, the following five stand out:


The First League Game

10th January 1903 saw the Shakers making the cross-country trip to Grimsby Town for a Division One game at Blundell Park. Approximately 5,000 supporters were on hand to witness Grimsby claim a 2-1 victory with the Bury goal coming from Billy Wood.


Highest Scoring

Bury scored ten goals on this day in 1942. A home game in the North West War League brought New Brighton to Gigg Lane, where a paltry crowd of 1,310 supporters watched an amazing game which finished 10-5 to the Shakers. The Bury goals were scored by Urmston (5), Davies 2, Carter, Roberts and Livingstone.


Highest Attendance

A visit to Leicester City's Filbert Street in the 1948 FA Cup Third Round attracted a crowd of 27,499. Leicester won the game 1-0.


Best Home Win

Tranmere Rovers arrived at Gigg Lane in 1970 for a Division Three game, where a crowd of 4,492 supporters watched on as the Shakers were in rampant mood. Bury won the game 8-0 with the goals coming from George Jones (4), Jimmy Kerr, Paul Hince, Alf Arrowsmith and an own goal from Tranmere's Tony Knapp.


The Last

Barnet provided the opposition for the last game played on 10th January. The League Two game took place in 2009 with 2,402 supporters watching on. A solitary goal from Mike Jones was enough to claim the three points for the Shakers with the following side representing Bury:
