We are delighted to announce that our very own Nicky Adams has extended his time with us after triggering an extension in his current contract.
Nicky joined the club in the summer for a third time, and since then he has made 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals, and he currently has the most assists in Sky Bet League Two with 12.
Manager Ryan Lowe spoke of his delight that his vice-captain will be staying at the club: “Nicky massively deserves this! He was in a dark place last season with his injury; sometimes those injuries finish players off, and they don't seem to come back.
“I was very keen to sign Nicky as he's not only great on the football pitch with his ability, but he's also one of the best lads I've ever been with in the dressing room. Everyone loves him, as he's that happy-go-lucky person that just gets everyone up for it.
“It's massively important for the football club that we've tied him down, and it's a big well-done to Nicky for getting to where he's got to. I've always said that I'll reward any player that performs and is doing their best to their ability. He completely deserves the contract, and I'm over the moon that it's done.”
Lee Dykes added: “We are delighted to announce the extension to Nicky’s contract, he is an integral part of the squad and someone who understands the football club inside out.
"Nicky was one of our first signings last summer and is a good example of the type of character we need at our football club. It’s been a fantastic year for Nicky so far, and he will continue to play a big part in the future of Bury FC.”
