Trio Named in Team of the Season and Duo up for Player of the Season

26 March 2019

Ryan Lowe, Danny Mayor, and Jay O'Shea have all been named in Football Manager Team of the Season for Sky Bet League Two. Both Danny and Jay have also been nominated for Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season.

Danny Mayor and Jay O'Shea have both been shortlisted for League Two Player of the Season, with the winner announced at the 2019 EFL Awards on Sunday 7th April at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Jay O’Shea’s 15 goals from an attacking midfield position, coupled with Danny Mayor’s ever-present consistency in Ryan Lowe’s side have given the Shakers a platform to challenge for automatic promotion. James Norwood, the League Two top scorer with an impressive goal tally, also made the shortlist for the League Two Player of the Season, firing Tranmere into the Play-Offs as things stand.

The pair of midfielders have also made it into the League Two Team of the Season, voted for by League Two managers.

Manager Ryan Lowe has also been voted manager of the League Two Team of the Season and he will find out on the night at the star-studded event - attended by players, managers, clubs, legends of the game and media - if he is manager of the overall EFL Team of the Season.

All 72 EFL managers were invited to vote for their players of the season, with votes also compiled for the Championship, League One and League Two Teams of the Season. The overall EFL Team of the Season will be announced on the night of the Awards.

Other awards to be announced on the night include the AmazeRealise Family Club of the Year, Checkatrade Community Club of the Year, LFE Apprentice of the Year, YouGov Sport Supporter of the Year, PFA Player in the Community and the Community Education Football Alliance (CEFA) Players of the Season.

The Sir Tom Finney Award and Contribution to League Football Award, alongside the inaugural Screwfix Moment of the Season, will be announced on the night, whilst the 2018 Hawk-Eye Goal of the Year will be voted for by those in attendance on the night.
